Intelligence of Goals
A few short thoughts on this article:
I believe we can make a distinction between our thoughts and our goals. Thoughts deal with processing information and our free will in making decisions about that information. On the other hand, goals are the biases we use to filter the information and make decisions. Intelligence is often associated with the first of these, that is, rational thought. However, I believe an equally important consideration is the intelligence of goals. Which goals will yield the most fruit? Which goals are simply mindless pursuits? These are the kinds of questions that separate the useful from the useless.
